This post is to honor the absolutely gorgeous maple tree that has to sacrifice its life so we can keep our house. Don't guilt trip me. I already feel HORRIBLE. If it weren't so close to the foundation. . . if it weren't already UNDER the foundation. . . if concrete was impenetrable, we would so be keeping the tree. It keeps half the house in delicious shade all the live-long day.
It was actually scheduled for removal last week, but our arborist up and moved to the other side of the country. Don't get me started. Anyway, we were able to find a local company that will do it for $50 less than the other guy. Yippee. And they're taking out that weird plumb sapling thing that's right up against the front of the house, and chipping a few stumps we have laying around.
So, before it's gone, here is our beautiful maple tree. . .
