Displaying Christmas Cards

Okay, I'm not the most sentimental person.  I very rarely save cards [sorry!], but that doesn't mean I want to recycle them instantly after reading them.  This year we actually got quite a few, which is fun, so I needed a place to display them.

This project is SO simple it almost doesn't warrant a blog post.  But you're getting one anyway!
1] Get a piece of ribbon, and thumb-tack it to the wall.  I didn't even have enough ribbon, so I tied three ribbon scraps together to make a long piece.

2] Acquire these awesome mini clothespins.  They carry them in the back at Joanne Fabrics.

3] Use clothespins to clip the cards to the ribbon.

Reupholstered Vintage Click-Back Sofa

Ladies and gentlemen, here she is!  I mentioned her in this post back in June, and I've been dying to get it reupholstered for months.  I knew she had good bones, but she was missing a leg, the padding was almost non-existent, and the fabric was worn thin.

Thankfully I found an AWESOME upholsterer right here in town who gave me a great deal, and is also the sweetest El Salvadorian man you'll ever meet.  For any Yamhill County Oregon folk out there, his name is Rigoberto with R&B Upholstery

Just in time for Christmas!

Orange Door Christmas

I've been having way too much fun around here. I'm possessed by the spirit of Christmas!
In one of the photos above I gave you just the wee-est little glimpse of our mid-century click-back sofa which has been reupholstered -- the full reveal is coming up in the next post.

I do this ALL the time, but remember how these spaces USED to look?

We've come a long way!
I hope you have a very merry Christmas!  Or Hanukkah, or whatever else you'll be doing this week ;).

Cleaning + Oiling the Weiman Tables

                                  BEFORE                                                                   AFTER
Okay, you might not even be able to tell the difference in these photos, but there is one!  This was one of those projects on my Big Fat Winter To-Do List.  I love these end tables [a Craigslist score], but they were in desperate need of some cleaning and they were mighty thirsty.

I just took off the glass tops and cleaned those with my usual water and vinegar mix.  For the wood, I dusted and then did a double wipe-down with a small amount of olive oil.  That's it!  They look shiny and happy now.

Christmas Sneaky Peek

It's cozy around here!  I've been having fun snipping and sewing little bits of festiveness.
I hope your Christmas week has been delicious so far!  More pictures [REAL ones] coming soon.
